Hope Abounds Solomon's House of Hope Newsletter May 15, 2023
Greetings from Solomon's House of Hope,
Just a brief update on this year's events. At this time we have three residents. One of residents will graduate July 16th. Another will graduate August 27th. Our third resident with graduate 2024. All three ladies have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior and have been baptized. It was such a blessing to watch these ladies as they grew in their desire to know about Jesus and the written Word to the point of wanting to know Jesus personally. We rejoice with these ladies as they "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." Our backyard neighbor, Mr. Claude West, donated with a living estate his house and property to SHOH in 2016. Mr. West was an avowed atheist and alcoholic. As he watched the ladies in the program, he determined that he could get sober also. At the age of 82 he quit drinking hard liquor cold turkey. Just a few weeks before his 90th birthday, he invited Jesus into his life to be his Lord and Savior. Ten days after his new birth, Mr. West went to his heavenly home. Two days after he accepted the Lord as Savior, he said he had a lot to learn. Now he sits at the feet of the Teacher Himself! What joy flooded our hearts upon his salvation and joy mixed with sorrow upon his departure to his home in heaven. We are in the process of making the property into a transition house for ladies graduating the 12 month program. We are calling it West Transition House. There is room for 3 ladies to live along with a house manager. In the transition phase, ladies will seek employment and upon having income, pay a small rental fee; be able to have a cell phone and their own transportation. They will be able to stay in the transition house up to 12 months while saving money to set up housekeeping in their own place. Our July graduate will be the first resident in the transition house. Excitement is growing about this new phase of ministry to help ladies further their growth in sobriety. SHOH resale shop continues to provide clothes, shoes, and household items for folks in need. Other ministries and churches in Trinity refer folks to SHOH for help. It is always a blessing to be able to bless folks as God leads us. God provides all the needs of SHOH and the ministry is happy to be a conduit for Him to bless others in the community as well.
May Father God bless each of you as you bless Him, His children and His ministries.
